PLASIEC TO CONDUCT MAIDEN MOCK ELECTION.

In a bid to enhance the credibility and transparency of the electoral process,
The Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission PLASIEC will be conducting its first- ever mock election to test run facilities for the October 9 local government elections in the state.

The Commission will test-run the deployment of the Voter Verification Software VVS for the election using live voters in six selected local governments across the senatorial districts of the state.

The exercise scheduled for Saturday, 28th September 2024 between the hours of 9am to 12 noon will take place in 6 polling units of six wards in the selected local government areas.

The local government areas include Wase, Shendam, Pankshin, Mangu, Riyom, and Jos North.

Wase has Danbiram 02 as ward and Central primary school 1, code 004 as polling unit.

Shendam, on the other hand, has Pangwasa 13 as ward and Naburuk 1, code 05 as polling unit.

While Pankshin has Dokpai 03 as ward and Ngolong Ban, code 005 as polling unit, Mangu has Ampang West 01 as ward and Pushik 1, code 003 as polling unit.

Riyom has Shonong 13 as ward and LWA primary school code 03 as polling unit.

Jos North has Angwan Rogo/Rimi as ward while Ungwan Rogo primary school, code 028, serves as polling unit.

The mock elections, which play a vital role in strengthening the foundations of democracy, serve as an essential training ground for political participation and enhance the credibility and transparency of the electoral process.

PLASIEC thereby calls on the electorates, stakeholders, including citizens, civil society organizations, and political parties, to participate in our mock elections in order to build a stronger, more resilient democracy that truly represents the will of the people.
