PUBLIC APPEAL FOR PATIENCE DURING ELECTIONS DUE TO VOTER VERIFICATION SOFTWARE HITCHES

The Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission PLASIEC wishes appeal to the public that while the electoral software deployed for the ongoing elections is experiencing some technical hitches, we are actively working to resolve these issues.

We understand that this may cause delays, and we sincerely appeal to all citizens to exercise patience as our technical teams work tirelessly to restore normal operations.

In accordance with the provisions of the Plateau electoral law, section 119, i hereby issue the following regulations;

1. That where it is impracticable to download the Voter Verification System on any device used by any of the Presiding Officer in any polling unit, the said Officer shall and must revert to the use of the manual voter register for accreditation of voters in the affected units.

The measure is being put in place to safeguard the integrity of the elections and ensure that every eligible voter is afforded the opportunity to cast their vote.

PLASIEC wishes to reassure the public that every vote will be counted, and no eligible voter will be disenfranchised, regardless of any delays or challenges faced.

Please note that it remains your constitutional right to vote, and we are committed to upholding this right.
