Next Election: Local Government Chairman and Councillor-9th October 2024

Public Notice

APPEAL FOR PATIENCE REGARDING PAYMENT OF AD-HOC STAFF HONORARIA

The Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission PLASIEC acknowledges the concerns raised by some ad-hoc staff over the delay in the payment of their honoraria.

We deeply regret any inconvenience this may have caused.

As communicated earlier, certain challenges slowed down the payment process as the Commission identified instances where individuals' details, such as names and account numbers, are duplicated.

Also, the use of Mobile Money Operators such as Opay, Palmpay or Moniepoint, as well as Micro Finance Banks, which some of the ad-hoc staff provided are not recognized by the payment platform of our issuing bank.

The Commission however wishes to stress here that only individuals who were shortlisted and participated in the election as ad-hoc staff will be eligible for these payments.

In response to the complaints raised by ad-hoc staff regarding the honoraria paid, we want to assure you that PLASIEC values your contributions and dedication to ensuring the smooth conduct of the elections.

However, the decision on the honoraria amount was carefully considered in line with the overall budget for operations, logistics, and other critical components necessary for the successful execution of the elections.

While we appeal for patience and understanding as we work diligently to resolve the outstanding issues, further complaints or clarifications should be directed to our local government offices for review and resolution.

Your feedback is valuable to us, and we will continue to review and improve our processes for future exercises.

We remain committed to ensuring that all eligible ad-hoc staff receive their due allowances.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and service.
